Our Story

Autumn 2019

Marie Vézina, Jasmine Verville, Véronique Nault, Simon Marcoux and Jennifer Chabot present a project based on Marie Vézina's knowledge and experience in speech therapy at the Cooperathon, the world's largest social innovation competition. The team wins the provincial final, and goes on to win 1st prize in Canada !

Winter 2020

Following this success, they decided to found the non-profit organizationAPI-Enfancea digital social enterprise, to support children's development by facilitating access to intervention services.

Spring 2020

Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, all public funding is being redirected to help existing organizations. Fortunately, the CIUSSS de la Capitale-Nationale (CIUSSS-CN) agrees to lend services to develop a prototype of the project. Since then, CIUSSS-CN has been our preferred development partner.

Autumn 2020

Presentation of a first prototypeto CIUSSS-CN, whoconvinced, agrees to provide additional resources to further develop our telehealth language stimulation program: Blooming Words.

Autumn 2021

CIUSSS-CN's pilot project off to a flying start! It's an unprecedented cross-sector collaboration. It represents a revolution in speech therapy services for families. Recognition of the project as a cutting-edge practice in development provides additional resources.

Spring 2022

Partnership with the Centre de Transfert pour la Réussite Éducative du Québec (CTREQ)to adapt Blooming Words to educational services for children.
First steps in a project to make the program Blooming Words culturally secure for theIndigenous communities, in collaboration with CIUSSS-CN and the Centre d'amitié autochtone de Québec.

Summer 2022

First presentation of the cutting-edge practice Blooming Words in the Health and Social Services Network of Quebec.
Development of our new web-based knowledge transfer application on which Blooming Words is now available.

Autumn 2022

Roll-out of Blooming Words : Health in French in the Health and Social Services Network of Quebec.

Winter 2023

Start of a pilot project for Blooming Words : Education with CTREQ in 4-year-old kindergartens, preschools and daycare centres.

Spring 2023

Launch of a clinical efficacy study of Blooming Words at CIUSSS-CN.

Full translation of  Blooming Words in English.
Adaptation of the program to the realities of the Indigenous communities in Canada (translations planned in Innu, Wendat and Atikamekw).
